Known issues

• DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) clogging and regeneration issues, especially on low-mileage or short-trip driving patterns
• Fuel injector carbon build-up and occasional injector failure, causing rough idle and loss of power
• EGR valve sticking or failure, leading to poor cold starts and increased emissions
• Turbocharger lag and occasional turbo bearing wear in higher-mileage examples (80k+ miles)
• Gearbox shudder on low-speed manoeuvres with the 8-speed automatic (Volvo's Aisin unit)
• Timing chain tensioner wear causing rattling on cold start (less common, but reported on 2015–2017 models)
