Known issues

• DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) clogging on low-mileage or urban-only driving, requiring expensive regeneration or replacement (€800–€1,500)
• EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve issues causing rough idle and fault codes, particularly in 1.6 TDI units
• Diesel injector carbon build-up and occasional injector failure, especially if fuel quality is poor or service intervals missed
• DSG 7-speed automatic gearbox judder or hesitation on low-speed manoeuvres (affects some petrol and diesel variants)
• AdBlue system faults and sensor malfunctions, resulting in limp-home mode if not addressed promptly
• Water ingress into lower door seals and potential interior damp, particularly in rear footwell areas
