• Surface rust on body panels and undercarriage due to high ground clearance and exposed design — requires regular washing and rust treatment in wet climates
• Plastic interior trim can rattle and creak on rough terrain or poor road surfaces
• Manual gearbox synchromesh wear with aggressive shifting, leading to notchy gear changes after high mileage
• Engine valve cover gasket can weep oil around 40,000–60,000 miles
• Differential breather tubes prone to splitting in damp conditions, allowing water ingress
• Starter motor may exhibit intermittent engagement issues after 50,000+ miles
