Known issues

• DPF (diesel particulate filter) regeneration issues if driven mostly at low speeds or short journeys; premature blockage requiring expensive cleaning
• EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve carbon build-up causing rough idle and limp-mode activation on some 2.0 TDI units
• Timing chain rattle on cold start in first 5–10 seconds, typically benign but cosmetically annoying
• Water ingress into door seals and window regulators causing electrical gremlins; common on high-mileage examples
• Dual-mass flywheel shudder on initial take-off; affects some manual transmissions
• AdBlue heater element failure (if equipped with selective catalytic reduction) causing warning lights and limp-mode
