Known issues

• DPF (diesel particulate filter) regeneration problems, particularly in low-mileage urban driving; can lead to limp mode and expensive cleaning/replacement (€800–€1,500)
• EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve carbon buildup causing rough idle and increased emissions; more common in 2020–2021 models
• Injector deposit formation on direct injection engines; results in hesitation and reduced fuel economy; cleaning costs €150–€300 per injector
• Occasional dual-mass flywheel chatter under load, especially in lower gears; replacement €400–€600
• DSG automatic gearbox (7-speed on petrol, 7-speed on diesel) can exhibit jerky low-speed engagement or rare juddering; typically requires software update or fluid flush
• Water ingress into door handles and window seals reported on early 2020 models; causes electrical gremlins and corrosion
