Known issues

• Battery capacity loss/degradation—some 2020 units report 10–15% capacity loss by 100,000 km; Renault's 8-year/160,000 km battery warranty covers defects but not natural ageing
• Charging port contacts corrosion in damp climates, causing intermittent charging failures
• Infotainment system freezes or unresponsive touchscreen; software updates often required
• 12V auxiliary battery discharge in cold weather, leaving car unable to wake or charge
• Brake fluid moisture absorption due to lack of use (regenerative braking does most work); contaminated fluid can cause brake warning lights
• Door lock solenoid failures, particularly on driver's side; car may lock/unlock spontaneously

Good for

• Affordable city and town driving with zero tailpipe emissions and low running costs (€3–4 per 100 km electricity)
• Low maintenance—no oil changes, spark plugs, or transmission fluid; regenerative braking extends pad life to 150,000+ km
• Decent practicality for a supermini; reasonable boot space and five seats
• Modest insurance and road tax (VRT if imported); strong residual values in urban markets
