Known issues

• 1.2L turbo petrol prone to carbon deposits on intake valves (direct injection) causing rough idle and hesitation; walnut blasting required at ~80k+ miles
• TCe turbo units experiencing premature turbo failure or bearing wear, particularly under sustained high load; repair cost €800–1,200
• EDC automatic gearbox (6-speed DCT on some variants) judder or shudder on low-speed manoeuvres or during gear changes
• Engine oil leaks from rocker cover gasket and sump gasket; common after 60k miles
• Electrical gremlins: infotainment system freezing, USB port failures, and dashboard warning light false triggers
• Clutch wear on manual variants; premature friction material degradation reported around 50k–70k miles

Good for

• Reasonable fuel economy for a petrol 1.2L turbocharged unit (40–48 mpg real-world with sensible driving)
• Practical interior space and boot capacity for families; decent ride comfort on Irish roads
• Lower purchase price and insurance group compared to diesel or hybrid alternatives
• Relatively simple petrol powertrain with fewer DPF/EGR complications than equivalent diesel models
