Known issues

• DPF (diesel particulate filter) regeneration problems causing limp mode, failed regens, and costly cleaning/replacement (€800–€1,500)
• EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve carbon buildup and occasional failure, leading to rough idle and increased emissions
• Fuel injector deposits and occasional injector misfires on lower-quality diesel, causing rough running and diagnostic trouble codes
• Electrical gremlins with infotainment system freezing, Bluetooth connectivity drops, and occasional dashboard warning light false alarms
• Particulate matter sensor (DPF inlet) fouling, triggering regeneration cycles and performance loss
• Timing chain tensioner noise on cold start (rare but reported on some units); generally adequate but not silent

Good for

• Reasonable fuel economy on long motorway runs (45–50 mpg real-world if DPF behaves)
• Spacious interior and practical cargo area for family use
• Comfortable ride quality and decent handling for a mainstream SUV
• Low CO₂ emissions compliance (on paper) for company car tax purposes
