Known issues

• Battery capacity degradation and reduced electric-only range after 60,000–80,000 miles, particularly in vehicles not regularly recharged
• 12V auxiliary battery discharge issues and failure to hold charge, especially in vehicles parked for extended periods
• Charging port connector corrosion and intermittent charging faults, leading to inability to charge via Mode 2/3
• Infotainment/navigation system freezing and occasional loss of PHEV energy management display data
• Clutch engagement judder during low-speed transitions between electric and petrol motor
• DPF regeneration warnings and incomplete regens on petrol engines, particularly with short urban journeys

Good for

• Low local emissions during electric-only commuting if regularly charged; beneficial in urban air quality zones
• Spacious, practical interior with good cargo room and comfortable seating for five adults
• Strong warranty support (7 years/100,000 km from Kia) and relatively low purchase depreciation for PHEV SUVs
• Reasonable petrol-only efficiency and smooth petrol engine performance when electric motor depleted
