Known issues

• DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) clogging and regeneration failures, particularly on vehicles with low annual mileage or short journeys
• Fuel injector carbon build-up and occasional misfiring, especially on earlier batches of the N47D20 engine
• Timing chain rattle on cold starts, requiring chain tensioner replacement (€800–1,200)
• Coolant leaks from plastic inlet manifold connection points
• Electrical glitches with iDrive infotainment system and occasional CAN bus faults
• Turbocharger lag and boost pressure loss in some examples, requiring turbo reconditioning
