Known issues

• Carbon build-up on direct injection intake valves causing rough idle and increased knock tendency; requires periodic walnut blasting around 60,000 km
• Supercharger belt tensioner wear and noise under heavy boost; tensioner replacement €800–1,200 including labour
• DSG 7-speed gearbox judder on low-speed manoeuvres and occasional hesitation during gear changes; software updates help but mechanical wear may develop long-term
• High-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) degradation causing weak cold start and limp mode; more common after 80,000 km if fuel quality poor
• Turbo wastegate rattle under partial throttle and boost creep issues; usually cosmetic but indicates early wastegate wear
• Coolant system seepage at expansion tank and heater pipe connections; typically manifests around 60,000–80,000 km
