Known issues

• DPF (diesel particulate filter) clogging, especially on low-mileage or short-trip driving; requires forced regeneration or replacement (€800–€1,500)
• DSG 7-speed gearbox juddering or hesitation during low-speed manoeuvres and gear changes; often software-related but can indicate clutch wear
• Diesel injector deposits and carbon build-up, leading to rough idle, starting difficulty, or limp-mode; more common if low-quality fuel used
• EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve sticking, causing reduced power or fault codes; affects efficiency and emissions performance
• Turbocharger bearing wear on higher-mileage examples; whining noise on acceleration is early warning sign
• 12V auxiliary battery discharge issues; battery can fail prematurely if vehicle left unused for extended periods
