Known issues

• DPF (diesel particulate filter) clogging and regeneration issues, especially on cars with low annual mileage or frequent short journeys
• Fuel injector carbon deposits and occasional injector failure on D4 engines, leading to rough idle and reduced power
• AdBlue system reliability; heater element failure and sensor faults preventing vehicle start
• Timing belt tensioner wear; belt replacement is expensive (€800–1200) and should not be ignored
• Gearbox judder on low-speed manoeuvres, particularly with the 6-speed manual transmission
• EGR cooler fouling, causing loss of power and increased emissions
