Known issues

• DPF (diesel particulate filter) clogging on low-mileage or frequent short-journey vehicles, leading to limp-mode and expensive regeneration cycles
• AdBlue system faults and potential injector fouling if AdBlue quality is poor or top-ups infrequent
• Early turbocharger carbon build-up on direct-injection diesel engines under consistent low-load driving
• EGR valve stiction causing rough idle and reduced power output, particularly on higher-mileage examples
• Occasional DSG dual-clutch gearbox shudder during low-speed manoeuvres or crawling traffic (affects both petrol and diesel variants)
• Coolant leaks from thermostat housing gaskets reported on earlier EA288 diesel engines
