Known issues

• CVT automatic transmission (where fitted) can exhibit hesitation and jerky behaviour during low-speed manoeuvres or hill starts
• Occasional reports of grinding noise from manual gearbox on first-to-second gear changes in cold weather
• Engine knock/pinking audible under load on poor-quality fuel or if spark plugs are overdue
• Rear door handle breakage (plastic component) more common in higher-mileage examples
• Air conditioning compressor can fail prematurely in some 2021 models; refrigerant leaks not uncommon
• Rear brake pad wear can be uneven due to weak rear brake proportioning valve; replace callipers rather than pads alone

Good for

• Fuel economy: genuine 45–50 mpg (manual) in real-world driving; CVT slightly lower
• Low maintenance costs and parts availability across Irish independent garages
• City driving, tight parking, and low insurance groups
• Cheap consumables (spark plugs, filters, brake pads all inexpensive)
