Known issues

• Carbon deposit build-up on direct injection valves causing rough idle or hesitation at low revs (typical of TSI engines)
• DSG automatic gearbox (if fitted) can exhibit judder or hesitation during low-speed manoeuvres or stop-start traffic
• Door latch mechanisms can stick or rattle, particularly on driver's side
• Electric parking brake can be slow to release or become unresponsive in cold weather
• Infotainment touchscreen occasionally freezes or requires full reset
• Timing chain rattle on cold start (rare but documented in early TSI engines)

Good for

• Tight, nimble handling and easy parking in urban environments
• Excellent fuel efficiency for a petrol—consistently delivering 45–52 mpg in real-world mixed driving
• Solid interior build quality, intuitive controls, and good visibility
• Low maintenance costs and readily available parts through independent garages
