Known issues

• DPF (diesel particulate filter) clogging on cars with predominantly short-trip driving; regeneration issues can lead to limp mode and expensive cleaning or replacement
• Fuel injector carbon deposit buildup causing rough idle and starting difficulty, particularly around 80,000–120,000 km
• EGR valve sticking or carbon fouling, resulting in increased emissions and potential MOT/NCT failure
• Timing chain tensioner noise on cold starts; chain stretch possible at very high mileage (180,000+ km)
• DSG gearbox (6-speed on some variants) occasional shudder on low-speed manoeuvres; rare but reported
• Auxiliary cooling fan bearing failure leading to noise and eventual overheating risk
