Known issues

• Infotainment system occasional freezing or slow responsiveness, particularly with early 2020 software builds
• Door latch rattle and loose trim panels on interior door cards
• TSI petrol engine carbon build-up on direct injection valves causing rough idle or slight power loss after 80,000+ km without quality fuel
• Occasional water ingress into rear light clusters leading to condensation
• DSG dual-clutch gearbox (if equipped) rare judder on low-speed manoeuvres or parking
• 12V battery drain in parked vehicles; battery may fail prematurely if car left unused for extended periods

Good for

• Daily commuting and family transport with nimble handling and good fuel economy (47–52 mpg real-world)
• Affordability; low insurance groups and cheap parts thanks to VW Group sharing
• Quiet, refined cabin with good soundproofing for the class
