Known issues

• DPF clogging and forced regeneration faults, especially on low-mileage or urban-only examples; can trigger limp mode and turbo damage if left unresolved
• Turbocharger bearing wear and occasional turbo failure around 80,000–100,000 miles; symptoms include loss of power, smoke, and high oil consumption
• EGR valve carbon build-up causing rough idle and increased emissions; more common on high-mileage examples
• Fuel injector deposits and sticking, leading to rough running, hesitation, or increased emissions
• Clutch wear on manual gearboxes (if applicable) from 60,000 miles onward; DSG dual-clutch can exhibit judder on low-speed manoeuvres
• Water ingress into headlight assemblies causing internal condensation and potential electrical faults

Good for

• Fuel economy and low CO₂ emissions—genuine 45–50 mpg on mixed driving for frugal drivers
• Strong mid-range torque delivery makes it punchy in traffic and on motorways
• Practical interior space, good boot capacity, and user-friendly infotainment (depending on trim)
