Known issues

• TSI petrol engines (1.0L three-cylinder turbo) prone to carbon buildup on intake valves due to direct injection; manifests as rough idle or hesitation at low revs
• DSG automatic gearbox (where fitted) occasional judder during low-speed creeping or at standstill; mostly software-related but can require software updates or fluid changes
• Infotainment system (MIB3) can be sluggish or occasionally unresponsive; touchscreen calibration issues reported
• Door window regulator failure (manual windows) causing windows to drop or jam, typically passenger-side
• Timing chain rattle on cold starts in some 1.0 TSI units, usually cosmetic but warrants inspection
• Occasional brake caliper corrosion in humid/coastal climates; more common on neglected vehicles

Good for
