• DPF regeneration issues — forced regen cycles on low-mileage driving, occasional clogging if short journeys dominate
• 2.0 TDI common rail injector problems — premature wear causing rough idle and increased emissions around 80,000+ miles
• DSG 7-speed gearbox judder at low speeds and during hill starts — software update sometimes resolves but not guaranteed
• EGR valve carbon buildup — can cause loss of power and increased fuel consumption; typically 70,000+ miles
• Panoramic sunroof seal degradation — water ingress in luggage area and door panels reported on some examples
• Auxiliary cooling fan bearing noise — develops whine under load, replacement ~€400–600

Good for

• Fuel economy on motorway cruising — genuine 45–50 mpg achievable on mixed driving
• Spacious interior with practical boot — 510 litres expands to 1,605 with rear seats folded
• Comfortable daily commuter — well-damped suspension, quiet cabin, good visibility
