Known issues

• DPF (diesel particulate filter) clogging and forced regeneration cycles, especially on short journeys; can cause limp mode and expensive cleaning
• Electrical faults: dashboard warning lights appearing and disappearing, battery discharge issues, and sensor malfunction codes (common Renault trait)
• Diesel injector carbon build-up leading to rough idle, starting difficulty, and increased emissions after 80,000+ miles
• EGR valve sticking and fouling, causing reduced power and increased emissions; repair typically €400–€700
• Gearbox shudder on low-speed manoeuvres in manual variants; dual-clutch EDC box can be temperamental when cold
• Engine oil sludge accumulation in the 1.5 dCi engine if servicing intervals are not strictly observed
