Known issues

• DPF clogging and regeneration failures, especially on low-mileage or urban-driven vehicles—often requires expensive DPF cleaning or replacement (€800–€1,500)
• EGR valve sticking and carbon buildup leading to rough idle, reduced power, and check engine light—common from 60,000 km onwards
• Turbocharger bearing wear and occasional failure; symptoms include oil leaks, whining noise, and loss of boost pressure
• Injector carbon fouling causing hard starting, rough running, and increased emissions; fuel injector cleaning or replacement required
• Water in fuel tank and fuel system corrosion issues; contaminated fuel can damage injectors and cause limp-mode
• Electrical gremlins including dashboard warning light false positives, door lock actuator failures, and occasional battery drain

Good for

• Practical family SUV with spacious interior and good boot capacity for its class
• Reasonable fuel economy (45–52 mpg real-world on mixed driving) compared to petrol equivalents
• Comfortable ride quality and well-damped suspension suitable for long motorway journeys
• Decent ground clearance and all-wheel drive availability for light off-road use
