Known issues

• 1.2 TCe turbo engine carbon buildup and Direct Injection valve deposits causing rough idle, hesitation, and increased fuel consumption by 2–3 mpg
• EDC (electronic diesel control) gearbox judder and hesitation on low-speed acceleration and hill starts, sometimes requiring software updates or clutch replacement
• Timing chain rattle on cold start, especially 1.2 TCe units; chain stretch or tensioner failure can occur from ~80,000 miles
• Electrical gremlins including dashboard warning light flickering, infotainment screen glitches, and occasional loss of reversing camera feed
• Water ingress into door seals and trim, leading to interior damp, window regulator failure, and door lock corrosion
• 1.6 petrol engine valve seal wear causing blue smoke on cold start and increased oil consumption (top-up every 1000 miles possible)

Good for

• Practical interior space and boot capacity with flexible seating for family use
• Smooth and economical 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine alternative (if not turbo variant)
• Decent driving dynamics and comfortable suspension for mixed driving including light off-road ability
• Strong resale value compared to less reliable French rivals; widely supported by Irish aftermarket garages
