Known issues

• Direct-injection petrol engines prone to carbon accumulation around valves, causing rough idle and hesitation; requires carbon cleaning every 80,000–100,000 km
• Touchscreen infotainment system freezes, loses Bluetooth connectivity, or fails to respond; software updates may help but hardware replacement sometimes needed
• Electrical faults including door lock solenoid failure, central locking malfunction, and interior light failures
• TCe turbo petrol engines (if fitted) occasionally suffer timing chain rattle on cold starts, especially in low temperatures
• Renault automatic gearbox (CVT or EDC) can exhibit shudder or hesitation during low-speed manoeuvres or gear changes
• Passive rear suspension can develop squeaks and minor alignment issues by 60,000–80,000 km

Good for

• City driving and short commutes; compact, nimble, and easy to park
• Running costs: modest insurance group, cheap insurance parts, and low servicing costs at independents
• Fuel economy on petrol engines (TCe and non-turbo) is reasonable for the class if driven gently
• Modern safety kit and infotainment for the price point (when working)
