Known issues

• DPF clogging and regeneration failures, particularly on vehicles with low mileage or short urban trips — can cost €800–€1,500 to clean or replace
• EGR valve sticking or failing, leading to poor cold starts and limp mode activation
• Timing chain tensioner rattle on cold start, especially noticeable on 1.6 BlueHDi variants
• Turbocharger bearing wear and oil starvation in some examples, causing loss of boost and sludge in the engine
• Diesel fuel injector carbon build-up reducing fuel economy and causing rough idle
• Airbag control module intermittent faults triggering dashboard warning lights without clear cause

Good for

• Spacious, practical cabin with good boot space for family duties
• Reasonable fuel economy (45–50 mpg real-world on motorway) if DPF remains healthy
• Comfortable ride quality and easy-to-use infotainment on higher trims
• Strong residual value in the used market compared to rivals
