Known issues

• DPF (diesel particulate filter) clogging and regeneration issues, especially on cars driven primarily at low speeds or short journeys
• EGR valve carbon build-up causing rough idle and increased emissions on the 1.6 diesel
• Injector sealing problems leading to rough running and loss of power
• Timing chain rattle on cold starts, particularly in the first few seconds of engine start
• Gearbox (6-speed automatic or manual) occasional shudder during slow-speed manoeuvres
• Turbocharger spool-up lag and occasional boost pressure irregularities

Good for

• Fuel economy on motorway/mixed driving (45–52 mpg real-world with diesel)
• Spacious interior and boot for family use and cargo hauling
• Good visibility and easy driving position for a compact SUV
