Known issues

• 1.6 dCi diesel particulate filter (DPF) clogging, especially on short-run/urban driving, leading to limp mode and expensive cleaning/replacement (€800–€1,500)
• Diesel injector fouling and carbon build-up causing rough idle, starting difficulty, and increased emissions; replacement can cost €300–€600 per injector
• EGR valve carbon accumulation leading to decreased performance and fault codes; cleaning or replacement €400–€700
• Turbocharger bearing wear causing loss of power and excessive smoke; replacement €900–€1,400 including labour
• Glow plug failures in cold weather, particularly in older units; sets fault codes and causes hard starting
• Transmission fluid leaks from the CVT or manual gearbox seals, reducing efficiency and requiring seal replacement

Good for

• Spacious seven-seat interior with flexible seating for family use and occasional towing (1,500 kg braked)
• Strong mid-range torque from the 1.6 dCi engine (380 Nm) providing responsive acceleration and good highway performance
• Competitive diesel fuel economy (45–50 mpg real-world with highway driving) and low road tax (€170–€200 p.a.)
• High driving position, good visibility, and forgiving suspension comfort for longer journeys and mixed terrain
