Known issues

• CVT transmission shudder or hesitation during low-speed acceleration or stop-start driving
• Carbon build-up on direct injection petrol valves causing rough idle or hesitation, typically from 80,000 miles onwards
• Timing chain rattle on cold start, particularly in winter months — chain stretch is rare but can occur
• Engine oil sludge accumulation if servicing intervals are not strictly observed
• Electric power steering stiffness or intermittent loss of assist due to sensor faults
• Sunroof drainage blockages leading to interior water ingress (if equipped)

Good for

• Practical family SUV with generous interior space and good visibility
• Reasonable fuel economy (45–50 mpg combined) for the petrol engine class
• Low road tax (€170–190/year) and reliable starting, even in cold conditions
• Strong used market; parts and servicing widely available at competitive rates
