Known issues

• Turbocharger bearing wear and failure, particularly under high mileage or poor servicing; symptoms include rattling noise on cold start and loss of boost pressure
• CVT transmission judder and shuddering during low-speed acceleration and reversing; can occur intermittently and is difficult to diagnose
• Engine knocking and pinging on regular petrol fuel, suggesting carbon build-up on direct-injection valves; more prevalent in vehicles with short journeys
• Water ingress into tailgate area causing corrosion and electrical gremlins; affects some 2021–2022 examples
• Dual-clutch DCT (where fitted) occasional jerking and hesitation between 40–60 km/h; firmware updates sometimes help but not always curative
• 12V battery discharge and auxiliary charging system faults; battery drains prematurely in some vehicles

Good for

• Practical urban and suburban runabout with good visibility and easy driving position
• Affordable insurance group (13–14 for petrol) and relatively inexpensive parts sourcing
• Nippy turbocharged petrol engine (117 PS) delivers adequate performance and reasonable fuel economy when driven gently
• Spacious interior for its footprint and a modern infotainment system with smartphone integration
