Known issues

• 1.5 dCi turbocharger failure or boost loss, often due to carbon build-up and bearing wear—typically €800–1,200 repair
• DCT (dual-clutch) gearbox judder and shuddering on low-speed acceleration or in stop-start traffic
• DPF (diesel particulate filter) regeneration issues causing limp mode, warning lights, and forced dealer visits
• Engine oil sludge and varnish accumulation if oil changes are missed; 1.5 dCi is sensitive to poor oil maintenance
• Steering column clock spring failures resulting in loss of steering-wheel controls and airbag warning lights
• Fuel injector deposits and cold-start rough running, exacerbated by low-quality fuel

Good for

• Decent fuel economy (45–50 mpg combined) if the engine and DPF are healthy
• Compact, nimble city car with good visibility and easy parking
• Robust chassis and suspension; handles potholes and rough roads reasonably well
• Strong used parts availability and relatively straightforward DIY maintenance access
