Known issues

• CVT automatic transmission (if fitted) can exhibit shuddering or hesitation during low-speed acceleration, particularly noticeable in stop-start traffic
• Engine valve cover gasket leaks are common after 80,000+ km, causing minor oil seepage around the top of the engine
• Air conditioning compressor can fail prematurely in some examples, particularly with poor maintenance of the refrigerant system
• Rear brake pad wear is uneven due to poor weight distribution, requiring more frequent replacement than front pads
• Fuel filler door hinge fractures on some units, causing the door to hang open or close improperly
• Door lock actuators may fail, leaving doors difficult to lock electronically

Good for

• Extremely affordable to insure and tax as a small-engined city car
• Simple, proven three-cylinder engine with minimal turbocharging complexity—very reliable if serviced regularly
• Excellent fuel economy for petrol (up to 50 mpg real-world in mixed driving)
• Tight turning radius and compact dimensions make it ideal for urban parking and narrow streets
