Known issues

• Direct injection carbon build-up causing rough idle, hesitation, and reduced MPG—requires walnut blasting (€400–600) or frequent Italian tune fuel additives
• Electrical faults: infotainment system freezing, Bluetooth drops, and dashboard warning lights illuminating for no apparent reason—often requires software updates or connector reseating
• Timing chain rattle on cold start, particularly evident in first 10 seconds; usually minor but can indicate premature wear in some examples
• Water ingress into door seals and boot area leading to electrical shorts and interior corrosion; poor weatherstripping design
• Turbocharger lag and occasional boost pressure fluctuations; turbo seals prone to weeping oil at higher mileage (80k+)
• Transmission shudder or hesitation during low-speed manoeuvres (especially 3-cylinder models) due to torque converter or software calibration

Good for

• Responsive handling and tight steering for a crossover; enjoyable to drive on twisty roads
• Stylish interior with decent infotainment (8.8" touchscreen) and customisation options
• Reasonable rear legroom and boot space (430 L) for the class; practical for small families
• Strong petrol engine performance (136 hp 1.5T or 192 hp 2.0T); decent acceleration and NVH refinement when running well
