Known issues

• DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) clogging and regeneration issues, especially on low-mileage urban driving; can require expensive cleaning or replacement (€800–€1,500)
• Diesel injector carbon build-up causing rough idle and starting difficulty; OM651 engine variant particularly affected
• Turbocharger wastegate wear leading to loss of boost and reduced performance; common after 100,000 miles
• EGR valve carbon accumulation and occasional sticking; causes rough running and can trigger emissions fault codes
• Glow plug and glow plug relay failure in cold weather; typical failure point at 80,000+ miles
• Air suspension (E-Class Air Body Control) slow leaks causing sagging; compressor may also fail; replacement very costly
