• Diesel particulate filter (DPF) regeneration problems causing limp mode and excessive soot buildup, especially on low-mileage or short-journey driving
• Fuel injector sticking and coking requiring expensive replacement, often all four replaced together
• EGR valve carbon buildup leading to rough idle and reduced power output
• Dual-mass flywheel premature wear and juddering on clutch engagement
• Electric parking brake electronic failures causing brake warning lights and loss of hill-start assist
• Timing chain tensioner noise on cold starts, particularly in damp Irish conditions

Good for

• Fuel efficiency on motorway driving (45–50 mpg real-world if regularly serviced)
• Smooth, responsive turbodiesel engine delivery with adequate performance for its size
• Sleek, upmarket styling and pleasant cabin with good standard equipment
• Depreciation has stabilised for 2019 models, making value reasonable at this age
