Known issues

• Direct injection carbon build-up on petrol engines causing rough idle and reduced performance after 80,000+ miles if not regularly driven at highway speeds
• Dual-clutch DCT gearbox (7-speed) occasional shudder or hesitation during low-speed manoeuvres or stop-start traffic
• Electrical gremlins with infotainment system (MBUX) including occasional touchpad lag, screen freezing, or Bluetooth connectivity drop-outs
• Water ingress into taillight clusters causing internal condensation and potential electrical failures
• Timing chain noise on cold starts; Mercedes uses timing chains (not belts) but can rattle if oil quality slips
• Door lock actuator failures, particularly on driver and passenger doors, requiring replacement modules

• Modern infotainment and driver assistance tech (adaptive cruise, lane-keep assist) with over-the-air software updates
• Decent fuel efficiency (45–52 mpg combined depending on engine variant) and respectable performance from 1.3L and 2.0L turbo petrol options
• Strong residual values and active used market, especially in Ireland and UK
