Known issues

• Turbocharger issues including bearing wear and carbon build-up on direct injection valves, leading to power loss and high repair costs (€1,200–€1,800)
• Timing chain tensioner rattle on cold starts, particularly in first 10,000 km; can require chain replacement if neglected
• Water pump failure around 60,000–80,000 km; plastic impeller prone to degradation
• Electrical gremlins including infotainment system freezing and battery drain issues
• DSG 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox judder and hesitation on low-speed manoeuvres; firmware updates sometimes required
• Cooling system leaks at radiator connections; design prone to seepage under pressure
