Known issues

• Electrical gremlins in early 2020 models: intermittent dashboard warnings, infotainment freezing, and bluetooth connectivity issues
• Timing chain tensioner rattle on cold starts reported on some 1.0L petrol engines (typically under warranty if caught early)
• Air conditioning compressor failure in year 3–5; not catastrophic but expensive to replace outside warranty
• Plastic interior trim quality: rattles and creaks develop in door panels and dashboard, especially over rough roads
• Fuel pump relay defects causing intermittent no-start conditions (very rare but documented)
• Brake pad wear sensors intermittently triggering warning lights without actual pad wear

Good for

• Excellent fuel economy: real-world 45–50 mpg achievable in mixed urban/highway driving with the 1.0L petrol
• Tight turning circle and nimble handling make it ideal for city parking and congested town centres
• Low insurance groups (11–13) and cheap spare parts due to Hyundai-Kia platform sharing
• Surprising interior space for the class; rear legroom adequate for occasional adult passengers
