Known issues

• DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) clogging and regeneration issues, particularly on low-mileage or short-journey cars
• Fuel injector sticking and misfires, especially around 80,000–120,000 km
• EGR valve carbon buildup causing rough idle and increased emissions
• Turbocharger bearing wear leading to lag or loss of boost pressure
• AdBlue consumption higher than expected; some vehicles fail emissions checks if not maintained properly
• Timing chain tensioner wear causing rattling on cold start (rare but documented on this generation)

Good for

• Strong mid-range torque (around 305 Nm) making motorway cruising relaxed and economical
• Good fuel economy on longer journeys (6.0–7.0 L/100 km real-world if DPF in good health)
• Spacious interior and comfortable seating for five, with a large boot
• Kia's 7-year/150,000 km warranty (if dealer-serviced history available) provides some peace of mind
