Known issues

• DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) clogging and regeneration issues, particularly on low-mileage urban drivers, leading to limp-mode and costly cleaning or replacement (€800–€1,500)
• Transmission judder and hesitation on low-speed manoeuvres, especially with the 8-speed Aisin automatic gearbox; software updates sometimes help but may indicate deeper transmission wear
• Fuel injector carbon build-up and occasional injector failure on 2.0L TDi engine, causing rough idle, starting issues, and poor emissions test results
• Diesel fuel pump failure or fuel system pressure anomalies, resulting in no-start or intermittent running; replacement pump is expensive (€1,200–€1,800 fitted)
• Electrical gremlins including infotainment screen freezing, CAN bus faults, and occasional loss of dash instrumentation; often requires dealer diagnostic intervention
• AdBlue system faults (SCR catalyst degradation, heater element failure) on some early units, preventing engine start if not remedied

Good for

• Excellent ride quality and handling dynamics on motorways and A-roads; low wind noise and refined cabin for the class
• Good fuel economy in real-world driving if DPF remains trouble-free (45–55 mpg achievable on longer runs)
• Premium interior design with quality materials and intuitive InControl Touch infotainment system
• Adequate performance (190 ps 2.0L TDi) with decent acceleration and smooth power delivery for day-to-day motoring
