Known issues

• DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) regeneration problems, particularly in stop-start city driving; can result in limp mode and costly cleaning/replacement (€800–€1,200)
• EGR valve carbon build-up leading to rough idling, hesitation, and potential fault codes; requires removal and cleaning
• Timing chain tensioner wear on higher-mileage examples (80,000+ miles); check for rattle on cold start
• Injector carbon deposits causing hard starting or rough running; fuel additive treatment or injector cleaning may be needed
• Transmission shudder or hesitation during gear changes, especially in lower gears (automatic models)
• Water ingress into door seals and window regulators causing electrical gremlins; check for damp smells
