Known issues

• DPF regeneration faults and blockages, particularly on low-mileage/short-journey vehicles — error codes P0401 or service warnings
• Fuel injector stiction and hard starting, especially in cold weather; injectors may require cleaning or replacement at 80k–120k miles
• EGR valve carbon buildup and occasional valve sticking, leading to rough idle and loss of power
• Transmission shudder/hesitation during low-speed gear changes (8-speed automatic); software updates often required
• Electrical gremlins: door latch failures, window regulator faults, and infotainment touchscreen freezing
• Turbocharger bearing wear and occasional turbo failure under high load; boost pressure inconsistency reported from ~100k miles

Good for

• Family hauling and towing with good payload capacity (up to 2000 kg braked)
• Motorway cruising with reasonable diesel fuel economy (45–50 mpg real-world on longer trips)
• Spacious, practical interior with good visibility and user-friendly controls
• Strong residual values compared to petrol equivalent; low depreciation in first 3 years
