• DPF regeneration problems leading to limp mode and expensive cleaning/replacement (£800–£2,000)
• Turbocharger failure or boost pressure issues, particularly if servicing intervals missed
• EGR valve carbon build-up causing rough idle and increased emissions
• Electrical faults: door locks, sliding door motors, and infotainment glitches
• Diesel injector fouling on short trips; requires quality fuel and regular long drives
• Transmission judder or hesitation, especially on S-MAX variants with same platform
