Known issues

• DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) clogging and forced regeneration issues, especially on low-mileage or short-journey driving patterns
• Turbocharger turbo lag and occasional boost pressure sensor faults causing limp-mode warnings
• EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve carbon buildup leading to rough idle and reduced performance
• Gearbox judder on low-speed manoeuvres with the 8-speed automatic (if fitted), intermittent hesitation when pulling away
• Fuel injector fouling and hard cold starts in winter months, particularly if AdBlue quality is poor
• Door handle mechanism failure (exterior/interior latches sticking or breaking, affecting entry/exit)

Good for

• Fuel economy: genuine 45–52 mpg on mixed driving with the 1.5L EcoBlue, excellent for company car drivers
• Everyday practicality: spacious cabin, good boot, comfortable for families and small business use
• Running costs: low VED, competitive insurance groups, and cheap parts availability via independent suppliers
• Driving dynamics: responsive steering, composed handling, and a refined diesel engine note when in good condition
