Known issues

• Wet dual-clutch (DCT) gearbox shudder and hesitation on low-speed manoeuvres, particularly in traffic — can take months for dealers to resolve
• EcoBlue 1.5L diesel prone to injector carbon build-up and occasional hard-start issues, especially if driven short distances regularly
• SYNC 3 infotainment system freezes, loses Bluetooth connectivity, and requires regular reboots — software updates may not fully resolve
• Electrical gremlins: door locks failing intermittently, window regulators sticking, battery drain when parked
• DPF regeneration issues leading to limp mode, particularly on low-mileage or urban-driven examples; DPF cleaning/replacement can cost €800–€1,200
• Brake pad wear sensors failing prematurely; rear pads wear unevenly due to caliper design

Good for

• Fuel economy: 45–50 mpg real-world on mixed driving with the EcoBlue engine
• Practical interior space and boot capacity for a compact hatchback; good for small families
• Relatively affordable to insure and tax (€200–€300 annually for a 2020 diesel)
• Parts availability and independent garage familiarity with Ford engines and transmissions
