Known issues

• PowerShift dual-clutch transmission (DCT) shuddering, hesitation, and judder at low speeds; gearbox can fail prematurely requiring €2,000–4,500 replacement
• Engine misfires and rough idle caused by failing spark plugs and ignition coils; carbon build-up on direct-injection valves
• Door latch failures; doors may not open or close reliably, especially rear doors
• Electrical gremlins including battery drain, alternator failure, and infotainment system freezing/rebooting
• Timing chain rattle on cold starts; chain tensioner wear can lead to costly engine work if ignored
• Brake dust accumulation and premature pad wear; rear brake issues on some examples

Good for

• Affordable, practical compact hatchback with decent interior space and boot capacity
• Low running costs for fuel and insurance; parts readily available at competitive prices
• Economical petrol engines (1.0 EcoBoost and 1.5 Ti-VCT options) suitable for urban and mixed driving
• Manual transmission versions (5-speed or 6-speed) avoid DCT gremlins and are more reliable overall
