Known issues

• DPF (diesel particulate filter) regeneration faults and blockages, particularly in low-mileage or city-driven examples—often triggered by incomplete regens due to short journeys
• 1.5 TDCi fuel injector issues and stiction, causing hard starts, rough idle, and fault codes—can require injector replacement (€400–800 per injector fitted)
• EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve carbon build-up and sticking, reducing power and increasing emissions; common after 80,000+ km
• Timing chain tensioner wear leading to chain rattle on cold start and potential stretch; Ford updated the design in later production runs
• Manual gearbox selector cable wear (5-speed manual) causing imprecise shift engagement or occasional linkage failure
• Electrical gremlins including dashboard dimming, electric window regulator motor failure, and passenger window switch faults
