Known issues

• Engine timing chain rattle on cold start (1.0L TCe and 1.2L petrol engines) — wear-prone, expensive repair if ignored
• Starter motor failures in higher-mileage examples; premature wear common
• Door lock actuators failing, especially driver's side — difficulty opening/closing doors
• Interior trim and dashboard rattle due to cost-cutting on clips and fasteners
• Gearbox synchro wear (manual transmission) causing notchy changes, particularly 2nd-to-3rd engagement
• Electrical gremlins: central locking, window motors, and interior lighting contacts oxidise due to poor sealing

• Simplicity and ease of repair — minimal complex electronics or turbos
• Fuel economy (WLTP claims ~5.0–5.5 L/100km realistically 6.0–6.5 L/100km for 1.0L petrol)
