Known issues

• Diesel particulate filter (DPF) regeneration issues, particularly on low-mileage or urban-duty vehicles; premature clogging requiring forced regeneration or cleaning
• Electrical gremlins including intermittent dashboard warning lights, infotainment system freezes, and Bluetooth connectivity dropouts
• Interior trim rattle and loose panelling, especially door cards and dashboard edges; becomes more pronounced after 12–18 months
• EGR valve carbon buildup causing rough idle and limp-mode activation on higher-mileage examples (80k+ km)
• Fuel injector coking typical of direct-injection diesels; manifests as cold-start hesitation and increased emissions on poor-quality fuel
• Manual gearbox (if fitted) notchy engagement and occasional grinding on downshift to 2nd gear in early production units

Good for

• Fuel economy: genuine 45–48 mpg (6.0–5.2 L/100km) on mixed driving with manual gearbox; excellent for high-mileage commuters
• Simple, proven 1.5 dCi or 1.2 TCe diesel architecture with established parts availability and independent garage familiarity
• Low purchase price and competitive insurance; good value proposition for budget-conscious buyers
• Adequate ground clearance and practical cargo space for family weekends and light off-road use
