Known issues

• Electrical gremlins: window regulators fail, central locking modules malfunction, dashboard warning lights intermittently illuminate without fault codes
• Turbo petrol engine (1.2 PureTech) prone to carbon build-up on intake valves causing rough idle and hesitation, especially if mostly urban driving
• Timing chain tensioner noise on cold starts; some engines require replacement at 80,000–120,000 km
• DSG6 automatic gearbox (if fitted) occasionally shows delayed engagement or shuddering on low-speed manoeuvres
• Interior trim pieces rattle; door card clips break and window seals deteriorate early (moisture ingress around doors)
• Parking brake cable corrosion in Irish climate leading to handbrake drag

Good for

• Compact, easy-to-park urban runabout with decent boot space (384 L) for shopping and short trips
• Low purchase price and affordable running costs; parts and servicing are budget-friendly
• Comfortable ride quality and light steering make it pleasant for commuting and city driving
• Reasonable fuel economy on motorway runs (45–50 mpg combined on petrol 1.2) if not driven hard
